Stroke patients are as unique as stroke itself, so the Stroke Center team works with each patient and their family to identify what they need and how we can best support them, both in the hospital and through follow-up care.

Support Groups

Hartford HealthCare offers two supportive opportunities for stroke survivors and caregivers to connect, learn, and grow. Participants can take part in educational sessions, explore coping and recovery strategies, share experiences, and ask questions in a supportive environment.

Life After Stroke

  • Meets virtually on the third Wednesday of each month from 2–3 p.m.
  • This group is open to stroke survivors and their caregivers.

Stroke Strong

  • Meets virtually on the second Tuesday of each month from 6 –7 p.m.
  • Designed for younger stroke survivors and their caregivers.
