What MyChart phishing emails may look like
A phishing email may say you have:
- A new MyChart message
- A change to an appointment
- An unpaid bill
- A problem with your account
- An urgent issue that needs your attention
The email may also:
- Use familiar logos, colors, names or branding
- Pressure you to act quickly
- Threaten to close or lock your account
- Demand immediate payment
- Ask for personal or financial information
- Request your password or verification code
- Include a link or phone number you don’t recognize
Even if an email looks real, it still might be a scam.
What to do if you receive a suspicious email
Don’t click links or call phone numbers in the email.
Instead:
- Open the MyChartPLUS app or visit the MyChartPLUS website.
- Sign in to your account directly.
- Check whether the same message, appointment update, bill or request appears in MyChart.
Never provide your MyChart password, verification code, Social Security number or payment information in response to an unexpected email.
If you’re still unsure whether the message is legitimate, contact your healthcare provider using a phone number or website you already know and trust.
