Cholesterol Management

The Cholesterol Management Center provides education and treatment programs designed to improve the lives of people with cholesterol disorders.

As only one of two centers existing in New England, the Cholesterol Management Center is a major participant in many studies of new cholesterol treatments and is the only center in Connecticut to offer LDL-apheresis.

Participants are treated by specialists in dyslipidemia (cholesterol disorder) with medication, dietary modifications or a combination of both treatments.
The Cholesterol Management Center offers:

  • Complete lipid profiling
  • Assessment of other risk factors for heart disease
  • Dietary counseling
  • Exercise recommendations
  • Medication prescription when necessary
  • Management of underlying thyroid or diabetic disease
  • LDL-Apheresis
