Our Head and Neck Cancer clinical team is highly specialized in conditions of the head and neck and meets routinely to develop a comprehensive care plan for each patient’s unique issues.
Through our charter membership in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, our team can draw on the resources of MSK in treating difficult Head & Neck cancer cases. Working together, our team will guide your care and support you during and after treatment.

Based on your personal needs, your team can include any of the following experts:
- Surgeons: Our surgeons are fellowship trained in micro-vascular reconstructive surgery and skull-base surgical procedures. Micro-vascular surgery reconstruction is performed in an effort to maximize post-operative speech, swallowing and cosmetic outcomes.
- Radiation Oncologists: Physicians who are experts in treating cancer using radiation. In the treatment of head and neck cancer, our Radiation Oncologists use advanced techniques to maximize the treatment of Head & Neck cancer while minimizing side effects.
- Medical Oncologists: Physicians with special training in diagnosing and treating cancer using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and other technologies. At Hartford HealthCare, access to radiation therapy and/or infusion chemotherapy is provided as close to your home as possible.
- Clinical Trials: As a cancer research center, clinical trials are an integral part of our program and are recommended when appropriate.
Other members of the care team may include endocrinologists, dermatologists, dentists and oral surgeons, head and neck radiologists, head and neck pathologists, advanced practice providers, oncology nurses, nurse navigators, research associates, registered dieticians, speech language pathologists and social workers.
