If Using Only Zoom – Computers
Starting your appointment using Zoom on a desktop or laptop computer.
This video describes how to start your virtual video visit with your provider using Zoom on your desktop or laptop computer.
1. If you were sent an E-mail with a link to the Zoom meeting, click on the link below “Join Zoom Meeting” in the E-mail. This should launch the visit in Zoom. Skip to #5 below.
2. If your provider’s office has given you the Zoom Meeting ID first open the Zoom app on your desktop or laptop computer.
3. Click on the “Join” button.
4. Type in the Zoom Meeting ID into the Meeting ID box and click “Join”. Then enter the password given to you for the meeting and click Continue.
5. You may be placed into a virtual waiting room until your provider joins the visit.
6. If asked, please click on “Join with Video”
7. Once admitted to the visit by your provider you may be asked about your audio options – please click on Join with Computer Audio.
8. If the Zoom window does not open to start your appointment at this time you may have a pop-up blocker enabled which prevents a new window from opening up. Many times there is a message on the bottom or the top of the browser which asks if you want to give permission for this window to open. Click on that message and allow the window to open to start your video visit.
9. Once the Zoom window opens you should be able to see and hear your provider and start your virtual visit. If your provider cannot hear you click on the screen and click the microphone in the lower left-hand corner to unmute your microphone. If your provider cannot see you click on the screen and click the video camera in the lower left-hand corner to Start Video.
End Video Visit
1. Once you and the provider have agreed the visit is complete you will be asked to end the meeting.
