Professional Clothing:

ReadyCT is looking for professional clothing donation for the students to help be prepared for their upcoming internship or job interviews. If you are interested in donating, drop off clothing at Genny’s Hefferman’s office by 10/2, or come by the event and drop off your items at the registration table at Heublein Hall on 10/3 from 10AM-1PM. This partnership equips students with specialized skills that can transfer to higher education, meaningful jobs after high school graduation, and overall a rewarding career.

Uniquely, Hartford HealthCare provides both prepaid and reimbursement options for your higher education interests up to $5,250 per year, depending on employment status. We have also established Colleague Resource Groups that bring together colleagues who share similar backgrounds to raise common concerns and advocate for those who historically have not had a voice in leadership decision-making. Tuition Reimbursement and Higher Education Partnerships:

Go to or back to school with no upfront cost.

HHC’s enhanced program provides the maximum benefit allowed by the IRS to cover educational expenses with no additional tax burden for you. This benefit is not subject to regular income tax. With our pre-paid tuition option, you can take classes with no out-of-pocket cost.

Available to benefits-eligible colleagues at Hartford HealthCare (HHC) or HHC-affiliated entities budgeted to work 24 hours or more a week who have been with Hartford HealthCare for six months and are in good standing.

  • Up to $5,250 per calendar year – Full-time colleagues (36 to 40 hours a week)
  • Up to $3,000 per calendar year – Part-time colleagues (24 to 35 hours per week)
  • Covers degree or certificate programs that are job-related and prepare the colleague for growth within HHC or an HHC-affiliated entity.

Hartford HealthCare has negotiated arrangements with colleges and universities to offer special programs and lower costs to HHC colleagues.

Post University, a private university based in Waterbury, Connecticut, offers an extensive catalog of graduate and undergraduate programs, all available onsite or virtually.

20% tuition discount on work-related classes or programs at Post University. Combine with HHC’s tuition assistance program to make the cost of school even more affordable. The discount at Post University is available to HHC colleagues AND members of their immediate household living at the same address.

Salve Regina, a private university based in Rhode Island, offers an RN to BSN program virtually

This program can be completed in a year if you already have some college credit that is transferable.

The cost and time it takes to complete your degree will depend on how many college credits you are able to transfer. If you need to complete only the 30 required nursing credits at Salve Regina, you can complete the program for $7,000, offset by HHC’s tuition assistance program, for an out-of-pocket total cost of $1,450. If you need to take additional courses, the cost may be higher. The discount at Salve Regina University is available to HHC colleagues AND members of their immediate household living at the same address.

Elms College is a Catholic, coeducational liberal arts institution in Chicopee, Mass., whose mission is to educate students of all backgrounds who have distinguished themselves inside and outside the classroom.

20% tuition discount for continuing education, undergraduate and graduate certificate and degree programs related to healthcare and nursing leadership for HHC colleagues. Programs include: DNP, MSN, RN-BSN, MBA in Healthcare Leadership.

University of Hartford is a four-year private nonprofit university that has been guiding the purpose and passion of undergraduate and graduate students for over six decades. 

10% tuition discount for all undergraduate, graduate certificate and degree programs for Hartford HealthCare colleagues.

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield offers more than 80 undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and certificate programs, including online degree programs. 20% tuition discount for all undergraduate, graduate certificate and degree programs for Hartford HealthCare colleagues. Sacred Heart University will also defer the tuition payment until the completion of the course. 

Tuition Discount applies to basic tuition only; does not include any fees. Includes study abroad programs at SHU-owned sites i.e. Dingle, Ireland, or Luxembourg.

SHU Online students enrolled in MA Mental Health Counselor, MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner, RN/BSN, MSW FT, MSW PT, and SVC RN/BSN programs that are currently billed at a discounted rate of 10% less than the standard program rate will get an additional 10% discount off the standard program rate of their academic program.

Eligible colleagues must submit this Employment Verification form to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. This form will allow SHU to contact Human Resources at HHC each semester/academic year you are enrolled at SHU to verify your current employment status and eligibility for the discount.

The Office of Student Financial Assistance will then apply your 20% tuition discount off of the standard program rate (including undergraduate/graduate/certificate programs) each term you are enrolled at SHU.

Important: This discount can end if SHU has/can provide a more generous discount or award.

Once HHC employment status and eligibility are confirmed, students may elect to enroll in the Hartford Healthcare Guaranteed Payment Plan (GPP) to pay the balance with a deferred payment-in-full due date at no additional charge.
