Dr. K is an amazing and caring oncologist who avidly listens and responds to my questions about any concern I may have. I spoke to her about some swelling I had in an extremity. She examined it and explained that I should contact her if the issue reoccurs and the frequency of it. Dr. K assured me that the issue did not arise from my medication nor was it a symptom of a new diagnostic cause. I have praised Dr. K to my friends who have supported me about how wonderful and charismatic she is.

Dr. K was VERY competent, knowledgeable - Reviewed my entire history and clearly knew my issues.

They thoroughly checked the medication with a second opinion on site to verify everything's correct

The visit went well and I thought that the doctor explained what my test results were and what to expect. She was very detailed on what I was being tested for and what it was about.

My experience was deeply disappointing and honestly upsetting. The bedside manner was poor and I felt dismissed from the start. When I mentioned leg pain, the doctor briefly flicked the fabric of my jeans without actually examining my legs for the swelling she asked about and before I could breathe a word she simply said, “Good,” without further assessment and rushed along. I felt bullied and like she felt I was a waste of her time from the start. Before even speaking with me about why I was there, she allowed reception staff to enter the room and answer her question of “why on earth my primary sent me,” as if I were not present. That conversation should have been handled privately and professionally and she should have asked me without such tone and judgment. I am the patient not the referring doctor. The majority of our visit was recorded on her personal cellphone without any discussion or consent, which made me uncomfortable. When I brought up my significant and excessive bruising, it was dismissed as “just a part of life,” said in a tone that felt belittling. I would welcome anyone listening to that interaction — it was not a neutral or compassionate in any way. Her response was, .....little bruises are just a part of life. To be clear, there was zero misunderstanding of what my bruises were like because I BROUGHT a whole album on my phone of HUGE BRUISES. To he fair, not all were massive, but they were excessive and I needed help or direction if she wasn't the right route. I have since learned that my abnormal bruising is in fact related to another medical condition. So while I ultimately did not need hematology for that issue, the way I was treated remains unacceptable. Being referred to hematology/oncology is not something patients do casually or because they feel great. I did not refer myself, my primary physician did. I came seeking answers and help. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and talked about loudly in the hallway while waiting alone for bloodwork in a dim space at the end of a hallway. Patients deserve respect, especially when they are already scared and searching for answers.

This is my very first Google review because the exceptional customer service Jamie, the receptionist gave will forever be embedded in my heart. Last year, someone very close to me was diagnosed with cancer with an intense treatment plan and Jamie played a huge role in facilitating transportation. Jamie made my family & my life more stress-free during such a stressful time. I am so grateful to have come across such a caring, compassionate and patient professional.
