This video will demonstrate how to test the Zoom application on your Apple or Android device to make sure the microphone and camera function normally.

  1. On your device, go to the Internet (using a web browser such as Safari  or Google Chrome  ) and type https://ZOOM.us/test into the browser address bar.

  2. Click the blue “Join” button.

  3. Click on “Open” to the question “Open this page in Zoom?”.

  4. Enter a name for your device, if asked, and then select continue.

  5. Click on the blue “Join with Video” button and then click on “Call using Internet Audio”.

  6. Your live video should appear (you should be looking at yourself!).

  7. Click the “Participants” icon on the bottom of the screen.

  8. Hold the phone or tablet one to two feet from your face to speak. When you talk, you should see the microphone to the right side turn green.

If you do not see the microphone move when you speak:
    1. Click Close and look at the microphone in the bottom left hand corner of the screen – if it is red with a line through it  please click on the microphone to unmute and then click on Participants again to test the microphone.
    2. Is there something plugged into the microphone jack of your phone or is Bluetooth on and sending audio to another device such as a car or external speakers? If so please disconnect the other device and try testing again.

NOTE: if you are talking on a call on the smartphone at the same time you are testing, the microphone will not move. Please hang up from your call and try testing again.
  9. Once the microphone turns green, select the “Close” button on the top left corner of the screen. This returns you to the video image of yourself.

  10. Select “Leave” in the top right corner of the screen. If you do not see “Leave” just touch the screen once and it should appear. Then select “Leave Meeting”.

  11. You should now be ready for your telehealth visit!

NOTE: you must give ZOOM access to your camera and microphone if you are asked for the video visits to work properly.
