What happened:

Mike created a backup plan to ensure that tele-neurology consults could be conducted should the internet go down – a plan that worked well during a recent outage. He thought critically about how an outage would affect our technology and reached out to the stroke coordinator. This allowed for frontline staff to be made aware of the fallback plan for emergent neurology consults.

Safety behaviors demonstrated:

Mike demonstrated coach-and-mentor safety behaviors, including ARCC. He also used STAR by being in the moment and thought about everything that could go wrong. His concern for patient safety – and the actions he took – paid off.
