What happened:

Melissa was seeing a patient for a benign hematological condition. As she listened to the patient, Melissa began to think something was off. The patient looked and felt too ill for the original diagnosis. Melissa combed through the patient’s record and ordered an additional test, which led to a new diagnosis of chronic leukemia. The patient is now on treatment and feeling well. Melissa continues to treat this patient in the clinic.
