What happened:

When a patient in the Emergency Department waiting room was in the ED bathroom a long time, Carmelo and Marquilous checked and found the individual on the floor with drug paraphernalia nearby. They immediately called a Rapid Response and got emergency care to the patient, avoiding a potentially serious safety event.

 

Safety behaviors demonstrated:

Both officers paid attention to detail with a questioning attitude and then executed an effective handoff in service to the patient.
