What happened:
Eliana was on a scheduled visit, but the patient did not answer the door or respond to knocks on the windows. She was concerned because this was out of character for this individual, so she called 911. The patient was found in his bedroom on his back and unable to report what was wrong. He was transported to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a stroke.
Safety behaviors demonstrated:
Eliana was attentive to detail, practiced a questioning attitude, communicated clearly to police and handed off effectively to EMS. Her quick application of CHAMP behaviors allowed the patient to be rescued, diagnosed and treated.
