What happened:

John had difficulty reaching a patient’s daughter to set up a scheduled home visit, but he stayed with it and succeeded – and his persistence paid off. When he arrived at the home that day, the patient was having difficulty breathing. She and her husband weren’t concerned because they said this had happened before, but John called 911. The patient was found to have a large blood clot in her lung that required immediate attention. Fast medical treatment led to a good outcome thanks to John’s tenacity, clinical assessment and follow-through.
