A gynecological cancer diagnosis is stressful for both you and your family. To help, we assemble a team of specialists devoted to making your care, from treatment through survivorship, as smooth as possible.
The Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute Gynecologic Cancer Program is led by:

Based on your medical needs, your team can include any of the following:

Gynecologic oncologists will also determine the best course of chemotherapy treatment, if needed, for your type of cancer.
Radiation Oncologists: Physicians who are experts in treating cancer using radiation.
Pathologists: Physicians trained to investigate the cause of disease by reviewing samples and providing fast, accurate reports that are used to diagnose and determine the best course of care.
Radiologists: Doctors trained to take and read pictures of areas inside the body, using X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and other imaging technologies.
Genetic Counselors: Our Cancer Counseling & Testing Program team helps identify people at risk of hereditary cancers, providing counseling and support.
Clinical Research Nurses: This specialty nursing practice is devoted to clinical research and the care of people involved in clinical trials.
Nurse Navigators: Nurses designated and trained to quarterback your care, coordinate appointments and guide you through treatment.
Clinical Psychologist: Your doctor can explain your diagnosis, but our clinical psychologist can help you process the news, which also affects the most important people in your life.
