Join us as we address health equity.
Food insecurity is associated with some of the most serious and costly health problems in the country. In our area, 1 in 7 adults lacks reliable access to affordable, nutritious food, which puts them at an increased risk for a variety of adverse health outcomes, including heart disease, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes.
Let’s do something about it.
Join us as we launch Food FARMacy, a prescription-based program.
How does it work? Clinicians and medical staff will screen patients for food insecurity. Patients receive referrals or "prescriptions" for food packages from the FARMacy. The FARMacy will focus on providing quality produce among other food items. FoodShare, the regional food bank, has been engaged to help. The FARMacy will be located in Brownstone Clinic.
