Honestly I was asked at the beginning of the visit if it was okay to have a resident student in on my visit. Little did I know that she was the main intake without the presence of my doctor. I think it is unfair to have a yearly visit-possibly the only time I will see my doctor this year- monopolized by the resident student. This should be told at the beginning of the visit when asked if you mind if the student is present. I thought my doctor would still be in the room. My visit with my doctor in the end was literally 10 min max. I love that the student docs are getting this experience but they are not my doc and should not be the main contact for a yearly visit.
