Multiple Sclerosis Center

In states like Connecticut, for some reason, there are more cases of multiple sclerosis than states closer to the equator. There are more than 400,000 people with MS in the country, 6,000 of whom live here. Dr. Brian Wong, the first board-certified neurologist with a fellowship in neuroimmunology at Hartford HealthCare, offers people in the region a chance at early diagnosis to minimize the disease.

Back pain typically affects eight out of 10 people at some point in their lives. Low back or lumbar pain is the most common. While many spinal conditions can be treated conservatively with physical therapy, steroid injections and pain management techniques, surgery is sometimes required.

Patients recovering from complex surgical cases begin recovery in the hospital, and continue with a physical therapy program affiliated with a rehabilitative facility or home therapy program.
