Southington

Brian Wong, MD

Brian is a board-certified neurologist who specializes in neuroimmunology. He attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a residency in neurology and then a fellowship in multiple sclerosis at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. His special interests include multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating disorders of the central nervous system. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.

Rachel Duke, PA-C, MSCS

Rachel is a certified physician assistant with training in multiple sclerosis and general neurology. She graduated from the Trevecca Nazarene University PA Program with a master of science in medicine. She worked in the Nashville area for two years before moving to Connecticut and joining the Ayer Neuroscience Institute Neuroimmunology Department in November 2018. She has earned additional credentialing as a multiple sclerosis certified specialist (MSCS).

Anne Rinaldi, RN Anne Rinaldi, RN

Anne is an experienced registered nurse who received a degree in nursing from St. Vincent College. She joined the Ayer Neuroscience Institute in October 2018, and serves many roles in the Neuroimmunology Department including facilitating medical approval, coordinating infusions and educating patients on their medical diagnoses.

Norwich

Derek Smith, MD

Derek is board certified in adult neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed residency in neurology and neuroscience at New York Hospital through Cornell University. He also completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis study at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is also an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School.

Hannah HurstHannah Hurst, MSN, RN

Hannah is an experienced registered nurse who earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She has nine years of specialized training in IV therapy, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and outpatient infusion with Hartford Healthcare. She has been managing the Neuroimmunology infusion Center in Norwich since 2014 and has her ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate.

Carole DeMerchantCarole DeMerchant, RN

Carole is an experienced registered nurse who earned her degree from Three Rivers Community College. She has over 25 years of experience including cardiology, gastroenterology, medical/surgical, and infusion therapy. She brings her diverse background to Neuroimmunology in 2013 and has her ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate.

Lindsey SpitzLindsey Spitz, MSN, RN

Lindsey is an experienced registered nurse who earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She has eight years of specialized training in IV therapy, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and outpatient infusion with Hartford Healthcare. She has her ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate. She is also adjunct nursing faculty for both Three Rivers Community College and UCONN nursing programs.
