Social Work provides compassionate support. Our social work team is uniquely qualified to advocate, empower and enhance your physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being. Social Workers strive to provide care with you at the center with empathy and cultural humility. They offer compassionate support with issues including lengthy hospitalizations, frequent re-admissions, and coping strategies for dealing with cancer.

If you're dealing with a new cancer diagnosis, or living with cancer and feel you need some more support, our social work team is here for you. You may benefit from talking with a social worker when you:

  • need support communicating with your health care team
  • want someone to listen to your concerns
  • feel worried about the future
  • are wondering about advance directives and who will speak for you if you can’t speak for yourself
  • feel sad, depressed, or frustrated
  • have concerns about your safety
  • need some counseling or guidance

You or your family can ask to speak with a social worker. Just ask your cancer treatment team to have a social worker come to see you.
