The Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at The Hospital of Central Connecticut is designed to increase early breast and cervical cancer screening for women ages 19 to 64, particularly those who are uninsured or underinsured.
Many breast cancer screening and diagnostic services are offered free through the program, including office visits, screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast biopsies, breast ultrasounds, fine needle aspirations and clinical breast exams.
Program Objectives
- To reduce breast and cervical cancer morbidity and mortality by diagnosing breast and cervical cancer at earlier stages
- To provide screening and diagnostic services to medically underserved women in Connecticut
- To provide comprehensive and ongoing services to eligible women
