This live event is intended for cardiologists, primary care physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, cardiac perfusionists, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, internists, surgeons, residents, and other medical professionals involved in the treatment of heart failure patients with acute shock. The goal of this activity is to provide participants with the most current data on drug and device treatments for patients with acute cardiopulmonary shock. At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to describe characteristics of a patient in shock, identify shock from right ventricular failure, identify patients who meet criteria for cardiac catheterization post cardiac arrest, describe fluid management strategies for shock, identify patients who may benefit from an ECMO consult in institutions with and without ECMO programs, discuss shock presentation in an ED, and discuss the familial implications of supporting a patient in shock. To receive CE credit/contact hours, participants must sign-in attend the activity and complete and submit the online activity evaluation (instructions to be provided in syllabus materials). Partial credit will be awarded for attending one or more presentations. Educational credit is pending approval. Complementary 'endorsed' spots for residents, interns, fellows, medical students, and nursing students. Please contact Carolyn Martindale at Carolyn.Martindale@hhchealth.org to register. Registration is required. $100 per MD/DO, $75 per APP (APRN or PA), and Perfusionist, $50 per RN and other healthcare providers. Breakfast and lunch and included.
