Expedited Hires: Onboarding and Remote Orientation

Ready? Set? Go!

Step 1: Onboarding

We need your help with these tasks so you can start working

You must complete all pre-employment steps before orientation. If you don't finish all the steps, you can't start work and won't be able to attend remote orientation. If you are no longer able to start employment as originally planned and need to discuss changing your start date, please contact your recruiter prior to taking any steps related to your remote orientation.

Verify Identity and Work Authorization: Completing the I-9 Form
Bring documentation for verification as soon as possible

Every employer is required by the government to complete an employment eligibility form (also known as an 'I-9') to verify who you are and your ability to work. An I-9 for your new position must be completed by the end of your 3rd day of employment to allow you to work.

You started the I-9 form online with your onboarding paperwork, but it is not fully completed until Human Resources verifies your identification in person. You may bring documentation for verification to any Hartford Healthcare Human Resources department during the times listed below as soon as you sign your offer letter. Click here to see the list of acceptable documents for this process.

If you don’t complete this step within 3 business days of starting work for pay, we can’t complete the required forms on time and the government won’t let you legally continue working with Hartford HealthCare.

Get Ready for Remote Orientation

You’ll complete required training remotely on your first day of work using our online learning platform.  Do not start your required training before your start date.  Content may be updated before your start date, therefore, any learning completed ahead of time may not be complete or accurate and may not satisfy your remote orientation requirements.

On your assigned orientation day, you will complete some required training remotely to protect your safety. Plan ahead for a successful day by finding a quiet space free from distractions where you can do your learning assignments.

Make sure you have your employee identification number. If you can't find it, call the Employee Service Center at 860.696.3500; tell them your name and you need your employee ID number for remote orientation.
