Dr. Kent Stahl Moves to ICP as Vice President, Physicians Network Development

July 03, 2014

To the Staff:

stahlI am happy to announce that Dr. Kent Stahl has agreed to move from his current position as vice president for primary care of Hartford HealthCare Medical Group to become vice president for physician network development for Integrated Care Partners (ICP).

Physician leadership is at the core of our H3W culture. Nowhere is it more important than at ICP, which is led by physicians and other practitioners who are creating the quality pathways that will help us fulfill the Hartford HealthCare vision. With more than 1,800 clinician members (including 1,300 doctors), it is time to further strengthen our engagement with our current –and future – physician members.

In Kent, we have just the individual we need to direct this initiative. He is a seasoned, high-caliber physician leader who is trusted by his colleagues, associates and patients. He is a veteran of Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare, having held various leadership posts since 1995. He has a track record of success and understands the pressures and difficulties clinicians face as we move to a more integrated care model.
In his new role, he will take the lead both in supporting current physician members as they work to transform care and also in recruiting new physicians into ICP (and into Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, when appropriate). One of our most important goals is to expand our primary care capacity. With his deep experience in this crucial area, Kent is well suited to this mission.

Kent will report to me and will begin his new duties July 7. We will conduct a nationwide search to replace him as vice president of primary care for Hartford HealthCare Medical group. The current primary care site medical directors have volunteered to provide interim leadership as we search and reorganize the leadership structure for primary care. Please join me in congratulating Kent on an exciting and vital new assignment.
